Child Like Faith...

This started out to be a study piece for a project that I am currently working on. I felt that  God wanted me to complete it, in order to share so others can be encouraged. This is Luke & Elizabeth's daughter Lydia. She likes to play swords, and loves her buddy Fred.  Psalm 23:4 came to be the perfect verse for this illustration.

Even though I walk through the dark valley of death, because you are with me, I fear no harm. Your rod and your staff give me courage. Psalm 23:4 (God's Word Translation)

As we go through hard times in life, things we may not understand asking..."Why in the world is this happening to me?."  When the valley is at its darkest, we need to remember to have faith like a child, knowing that God is with us. I pray as I go through dark valleys in my own life, that the Light of Jesus within me will shine. That others may be encouraged to let their light overcome darkness in their own life as well. God never promised us that we wouldn't have to go through the dark valleys, but he did promise to go with us. Just as God used Lydia to help make my light shine a little brighter, I hope this illustration of her will help make your light shine a bit brighter too...

Bloodsports 4 Challenge!

Well as I took some time from The Life of Green and Orange to refocus on myself as a artist. I was working on my art. I entered the Bloodsports 4 challenge. The challenge was to design a action figure package using the provided template and logo. We had three logo names to choose from and I went with Legend of Lizards. I learned a lot form the challenge and it was fun to work on.

Looking at The Big Picture!

Need to take a few days to clear my head. Going to rework my art schedule in order to be more productive, want to get a little more organized; if at all possible. I like how The Life of Green and Orange is changing my life as a artist, and has been helping me grow as a illustrator. Don't want to burn myself out on an awesome project that I think this has turned into. I got the book The Perfect Bait by Bobby Chiu. So many awesome things he shared that helped him grow as a artist. Great book, I highly recommend it. http://theperfectbait.com/about.php
The Life of Green and Orange is my paint study blog, but I seem to push it past just doing paint studies. I'm learning a lot from working on these paint illustrations, but I need to breakdown my studies into different catagories. Sometimes you just have to stop, take a minute and look at the big picture...re-adjust some things so they work better. I need to work smarter, not harder. So I thought this would be the perfect time since this is beginning of a new year. Thanks for all the love and support, you guys are awesome! Always push forward, and never give up on your dreams! The only one that can stop you from doing this is yourself.

Like how this piece is turning out, but going to push it some more. Its Friday and at our house we call it pizza Friday. Going to go have homemade pizza and hang with the family.
